Memories
“Burn Bright, now and always!”
2019 –
It changed my path in life forever. It showed me what was possible-what it looks like when the best in us shows up to amplify and support the best in our neighbors.
2018 –
Not having a bike after temple burn night 2018 and walking all the way across the city as it got dismantled, volunteering as a penguin at Arctica and dancing as much as delivering, deep-playa beer delivery.
2011 –
Tears rolled down my cheeks at the 2011 Temple Burn and participating in then running a kissing booth.
–
the night we drove out and had a random playa dance party with The Motown Train and Pulpo Mecanico! I snapped an epic picture with Dave’s phone if that memorable night!
–
The epic burn night where we all sat up in the bleachers’ seats to watch the man burn, that was the most beautiful burn.
–
The year we collaborated with The Bleachers was amazing!!! I will always remember the time there was such a white out that our Duane’s Whirld crew (despite rolling so slowly) almost drove through the Sonic Runway! We stopped just metres short when one of our lookouts spotted it last minute!!
–
Camping with Duane Flatmo’s camp!! The years with Pulpo Mecanico and Rabid Transit were pure magic. We got to ride out with the most rad art car pulsing with fire.
–
I love the community building of the camp when we arrive, the rotational cooking, ice runs and my favourite time is when everyone gets all dolled up after dinner to roll out each night on playa together as a playa family!!

I remember . . .
2019 –
Waking up before dawn to bike out to the trash fence. The sun peaked over the horizon and we stumbled upon a bar that served hot chocolate with liquor. We sipped as the playa illuminated and were visited by a tiny remote control guacamole truck with chips. It sped off into the distance and we continued on our own adventure.
